#45. January 6th, 2013: Sarah Spiegelman

Sarah Speegz 🙂 The name has a ring to it unlike any other. It’s a name that makes you smile when you hear it, and you will probably laugh and giggle as well 🙂 There is truly only one Sarah Speegz in this world. Sarah is one of the most energetic, eccentric, and radical people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting in my life. She captivates a room with her presence (and maybe sometimes with her hair 🙂 ) and can make any situation into one that is fun and more comfortable. Sarah is also one of the funniest people that I have ever met. She owned the stage at all of the Comedy Sportz matches and can honestly cause you to gasp for air in a normal conversation. Never will I forget the day that she helped me shop for a last-minute halloween costume at Rite Aid and all she did was kept rattling off puns to where I honestly couldn’t stop laughing or keep my face from being so red. Sarah has this unique part about her to find humor in almost everything but in an absolutely fantastic way. She knows how to be serious, is one of the most intelligent people that I know, and can have a mind-blowingly intellectual conversation with you, and yet she will still find a way to make you smile when you need it. Sarah is also one of the strongest people that I know in that she has been through a lot in her life and yet she turns her negative moments into learning experiences and is an absolute QUEEN at self-deprecating humor. She has come so very far in such a quick amount of time and is now EASILY the most proud and out person that I know. She absolutely OWNS being gay and is a role model to literally hundreds of people including myself. As I told her today, whenever I need someone to challenge me or inspire me to keep going, I look to Speegz. She is ALWAYS willing to put herself out there and stand up for what she believes in and for what she feels is right. Sarah is also incredibly genuine and just an overall exquisite human being. She is seriously one of those people you meet and know instantly that she is going to be unbelievably successful in whatever way you define that. At college, I always find myself telling my friends about her and it’s because she is that one-of-a-kind person that will stay with you for the rest of your life. With that, I cannot thank you enough Sarah for being in my life and giving me some of my best memories 🙂 Thank you so much for always being honest with me and those around you and for always staying courageous, especially in times of hardship. Thank you so very much for making me laugh LITERALLY every time I see you and for being able to have a serious and deep conversation with me. Thank you for being so enthusiastic 110% of the time and for using your skills and compassion to better this world. This world is better with you in it and you deserve to hear that every single damn day. Thank you so much for being a leader in the gay community and for being the role model that you are for so many people. Thank you so much for being so supportive of me and all that I am in life and for listening and helping me through any situation I come to you with. Thank you for making the world smile and for being able to make fun of yourself in order to make the world laugh. Thank you for being proud of who you are and thank you for being one of the most beautiful human beings on this planet, inside and out. Thank you for rocking your haircuts and thank you for having such a warm smile and personality AHHH! Sorry, you’re just absolutely fantastic. 🙂 Thank you for everything Sarah. You’ve changed my life in such positive ways and I know you will continue to do that to so many others throughout the rest of your fun and intriguing life. For all of that, Speegz, I thank you 🙂 ❤
