#365. November 22nd, 2013: TEDxYouth@SanDiego

Two years ago, I flew across the country to get back for TEDxYouth@SanDiego. I was one of the Student Lead Organizers, and I had gone on the most incredible journeys with an even more remarkable team. Today, I flew across the country again for TEDxYouth@SanDiego, only this time because I am a speaker. To put it simply, TEDxYouth@SanDiego changed my life. When the event was over two years ago, I broke down. I cried, but they were tears that resembled pride. I went back to college as a confused freshman, because I suddenly had this burning fire in my heart to keep being a part of what I had just done. TEDxYouth@SanDiego caused me to change my major, to keep organizing TEDx events, and ultimately was the turning point for me into finding what I absolutely love to do in life. Happiness formed its true definition in my heart that day two years ago, and I’ve been loving life ever since. But the best part of the event two years ago was actually the audience. In fact, the audience is the whole reason the event exists. Having the opportunity to inspire the youth of our area and the world is something you have to take advantage of, and that’s what the TEDxYouth@SanDiego team does. They are doing it again in two days, on November 24th, and I am honored to be a speaker during the day. I have been given a chance to share my story. With that, my last and 365th “thank you” post is to the audience of this year’s TEDxYouth@SanDiego. To ALL of you in the audience that day, I say thank you. Thank you so much for being such remarkable human beings, and thank you for being open to learning new ideas. Thank you for expanding your minds in hopes of connecting with the world around you so that you can change that exact world. Thank you so much for bringing your energy and enthusiasm and for putting it into action every single day of your life. Thank you for having such unlimited potential to go forth with your ideas. Thank you for taking risks. Thank you for spreading your love and gratitude across this earth. Thank you for being the best YOU that you can be. And thank you so much for being a part of this project; the most full circle, eye-opening, and beautiful journey that I have ever taken in my entire life. Much love, and onward into a life filled with ideas, connection, action, and appreciation 🙂
