#355. November 12th, 2013: John Lindsay

When I met John, I was completely captivated by his intelligence and motivation. And not just his his intelligence as in how smart he is. He’s someone who just understands the world around him. He’s aware. He’s alive. He fights for what’s right and will never, ever give up. That’s just one of the many things I love about him though. He truly is someone who will never spot serving for the good of the people around him. He is unbelievably dedicated to equality and being around him is like getting a constant energy boost. He gets you excited about things, and he makes you a better person. John and I have had countless conversations, both silly and incredibly powerful and serious, and yet he never fails to be honest with me. He will always stand up for what he believes in, and he always makes me think about my actions and my words in the best way possible, and I love it. He’s someone you can count on 110% and I know I can trust him with literally anything in the world. John is also someone who is incredibly genuine and grounded, especially with the things he’s seen in life. He’s positive and friendly, and such an incredibly loving and caring individual . He’s honestly such a dynamic person to describe, but if you know him, you know exactly how fantastic he is. John is mover and a shaker. He’s changing the world literally every day, and he uses everything in his power to help the world grow. He’s seriously someone who I imagine myself calling up one day later in life to come have dinner with my family and discuss life. He’s a lifelong friend and confidant, and my life has changed in so many ways after meeting him. He brings clarity and perspective to your life. He brings a new enthusiasm, and a new look at the world. He is such a strong human being, and yet he acknowledges his weaknesses and strives to grow better. John is a living example of a leader who looks within himself first to make change, and then does it. John, thank you so much for being such a phenomenal friend in my life. Thank you for that wonderful conversation that night with Edgar, and thank you for your advice and honesty and all hours of the night 🙂 Thank you for challenging me and for pushing me to do better; I love it. Thank you for listening to me, and respecting me, and for opening up to me in ways I truly could have never imagined. Thank you for being such a fun person to be around and for always looking at each day with opportunity and motivation. Thank you for how hilarious you are and your ridiculous comments, and thank you so much for just being in my life. You’ve made it better since those first moments at J-Street 🙂 Thank you.
