#333. October 21st, 2013: Miguel Mejia

YAAAASSSSS! Let’s all give it up for the one and only Miguel Mejia 🙂 I met Miguel this summer during CI and I remember thinking immediately that this kid was one-of-a-kind. He was wearing a bowtie with his vest and was so unbelievably outgoing and open. It was refreshing. Miguel has never let that image in my head down. He always has this incredible energy and enthusiasm about him and it is absolutely contagious. He can make you laugh instantly and his happiness rubs off on everyone he meets. Miguel is such a wonderful, zebra-loving, eccentric ball of energy and I have loved being friends with him since we met. He also is someone who I admire so so much for his courage and strength. He’s come a long way and progresses every single day. His bravery is incredibly inspiring and I don’t think he gets enough credit for being the fantastic human being that he is. People look to him to cheer them up and he never asks for anything in return. He’s dedicated to making those around him feel loved and taken care of. His ability to open up and be vulnerable is special and I am so appreciative of how close we have gotten over these past months. Miguel, thank you so much for coffee today and for being such a unique individual 🙂 Thank you so much for always making me smile and for always having something hilarious to say. Thank you so much for being such a strong leader and for allowing yourself to open to me. Thank you so much for being so proud and comfortable with yourself- it’s always inspiring, seriously. Thank you so much for getting involved so early on this campus and for putting all your effort into things that will benefit others. Thank you so much for being the goofball that you are 🙂
