#240. July 20th, 2013: Jack Abbott

When I entered into the world of TED, I was introduced to the one and only Jack Abbott. When I met him, I immediately could tell Jack was a fearless leader and that he was going to be a role model in my life. Well, Jack has become more than that. Jack is an unbelievable mentor in my life, always helping me with anything I need and always inspiring me to think further outside the box. Jack is truly a go-getter. He doesn’t let anything get in his way and he tries his absolute hardest to make the best quality life for himself and those around him. He puts on spectacular, world renowned events that inspire and encourage so many people and he does that because he loves it. Not because of the money (which there’s none), but because he loves it. Jack is remarkably talented and just an overall incredible human being. His work ethic is so admirable. The best part of Jack is that he doesn’t create followers: he creates other leaders. He gave me so many opportunities to learn and to develop new and exciting skills, all of which are extremely helpful now and all of which I am so thankful for. Jack has given me such a fierce perspective that has enabled me to think: the worst that someone says is “no.” Jack has shown me that reaching out for help or resources in okay, and that hearing “no” is the equivalent to hearing another door open. Jack has taught me so much about this world and I am so thankful for that. Jack, thank you so much for everything you have done for me and for always answering all of my numerous questions 🙂 Thank you so much for always inspiring me to push further and for the lessons you have taught me. Thank you so much for flying me back for the incredible and wonderful TEDxSanDiego and thank you so much for all of the other opportunities you’ve given me. Thank you so much for being such a kind and helpful man and for always being there to help. Thank you for being the rockstar man that you are!
