#221. July 1st, 2013: Justin Pollock

This past year I was a House Staff member in Thurston Hall at GW. When I got placed there, I was a bit worried as to what it would be like and if my residents would like me/if I’d like them. Well, as life usually plays out, the year was amazing, and it yielded some of the most incredible friendships and bonds that I will cherish and treasure for a lifetime. One of those is with Justin. Justin was perhaps the most phenomenal guy that I met last year. The first thing I noticed about him was that he was kind in such a special way. Justin is honestly just the most compassionate and caring guy you’ll meet, and it’s 110% genuine and meaningful. The next thing I noticed about Justin was his wonderful attitude and outlook on life. He always has a smile on and he always looks at things positively. He treats absolutely everyone with respect and his integrity is through the roof. He always wants to lend a hand and help out wherever needed. In regard to our story though, about halfway through the year is when things changed with Justin. I found I could trust him with anything and we both opened up to each other in such magnificent ways. I found myself leaving my key with him if he needed to do homework in the room, and I found myself being so unbelievably comfortable around him. Justin was and still is someone I can count on. For anything. For everything. As I told him tonight, he’s one of the few people in my life who I truly know I can trust with literally anything in the world. There’s not a doubt in my mind about his motives or pathway in life. He goes out of his way to make others feel welcome and happy and for that I am so proud to know him and have him in my life. Justin is now one of the main members of the TEDxFoggyBottom team and I am so thankful for his help and teamwork with that too. Justin gives his best effort in absolutely everything and I am also in awe of that as well πŸ™‚ Justin, you really are such a fantastic individual and I can’t thank you enough for being a part of my life. Thank you so much for being the remarkable man that you are πŸ™‚ Thank you for all of the late night discussions about life and dilemmas and projects. Thank you for always listening to me and for being logical and realistic with me πŸ™‚ Thank you for being honest about everything and not just agreeing with me to make me happy. Thank you for taking care of me and thank you for being someone I can trust and count on. Thank you for trusting me and thank you for the absolutely amazing friendship that we have πŸ™‚ Thank you for dealing with my ridiculousness and thank you for never failing to make me happy, proud, and confident with my life. Thank you for all of the inside jokes and hilarious memories πŸ™‚ Β Thank you for just being in my life as I honestly don’t know where I’d be without you πŸ™‚ Thank you for everything πŸ™‚
