#199. June 9th, 2013: Naomi Natale

Tomorrow is the first day of TEDGlobal in Edinburgh, Scotland. I was there a year ago and that week completely changed my life. The biggest reason as to why I came back so different and filled with ideas was the people that I met. One of these people would be the wonderful and incredible Naomi Natale, the mastermind behind One Million Bones. When we spoke she told me all about OMB’s mission around awareness and action for genocide and the atrocities committed everyday. She then told me how in June of 2013 they were bringing 1,000,000 handmade bones and laying them over the National Mall and meeting with congressmen. Well folks, she did it, and she did it beautifully. Today I went down to the mall and saw the insanely powerful and moving display of bones. It was striking to see the representation of that many people. Naomi did a fantastic job of putting this together for YEARS now and I absolutely think it culminated into a phenomenal weekend. A job well done for sure. Naomi, thank you so much for all of your efforts and hard work and thank you so much for truly changing the world. There is no doubt that you have inspired so many more people, young and old, to act on their passions and what makes them tick. Thank you so much for doing something truly remarkable in such a city of power and thank you so much for never giving up. I remember grabbing coffee with you earlier this year and you have come so far since then and I am just in awe of your work and ability to produce such a exquisite outcome. Thank you so much for being such a beautiful and strong and motivational woman and thank you so much for just being you ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you for being in my life, as it really is an honor to know you ๐Ÿ™‚
