#163. May 4th, 2013: Liza Morris

Liza Morris, you are one of the most generous, beautiful, and adventurous women I have ever met! As I told you on the phone tonight, I still remember so vividly the night that I met you. I had gotten to my hotel late in Edinburgh, Scotland and rushed over to Cafe Andaluz for the TEDxChange dinner. As I introduced myself to those hilarious Hungarian guys, they said I had to meet you, and there you were! Seeing that you were from D.C. was so exciting and it’s honestly one of the coolest things to think about now because of where we are now in life together! 🙂 You were and are so kind and compassionate and you and Anne both opened your arms to me at TEDGlobal. I was alone and pretty scared and you treated me as family and showed me the ropes. You have such a wonderfulness about you that everyone loves and you make everyone feel so happy and welcome! You are incredibly genuine, you have a phenomenal view on the world, and you are ridiculously modest and humble in regard to your achievements. Also, you should know that you don’t look a day over 20 🙂 Anyway, you are also one of the most remarkable overachievers I have met and you are also extremely hardworking and dedicated to every single thing you do. I am SOOO pleased that I met you and to have you in my life just makes me feel secure and happy! Having you as a friend is a fantastic thing 🙂 Thank you so much for everything at Global and thank you so much for always being there for me. Thank you for the coffee dates we’ve had and thank you so much for always being there to listen and to give me advice on whatever I need. Thank you for lending me those magnificent (and expensive) TED letters and rug 🙂 Thank you for being the best MOTHER in the world because ya know, you had a BABY 5 days ago!!! 😀 And thank you for just being such a quality, world-traveling, life-changing, world-helper woman and thank you being you 🙂 You are seriously such an exquisite woman and I am so thankful to have you in my life 🙂
