#139. April 10th, 2013: Angela Esquivel

There are some people in this world who are givers. They give everything they have to others for the purpose of making them feel comfort, love, and a deep sense of care. Angie is one of those givers. Angie gives her smile, her happiness, and her understanding every single day for the benefit of students and adults alike here at GW. I first met Angie this summer during House Staff training and I was immediately captivated by her calm and welcoming persona. She radiants warmth and she just looks like someone you can hug and be close with πŸ™‚ It was during that training though that something happened in my life and I needed someone to talk to, someone just to listen to me, even if it was just for a few minutes. Angie was that person. She was recommended by a friend and boy was my friend right. She listened, TRULY listened, to what I had to say and all of my feelings. She gave me comfort and made me feel like someone cared and she really did. She didn’t care about how much time anything took or what else she had to attend to; her focus was on helping and giving whatever it is she could. Angie is like the tree in “The Giving Tree” πŸ™‚ Anyway, Angie is honestly one of the most remarkable people I have met at GW. She’s trustworthy, present, and incredibly friendly. She has a great sense of humor and she can brighten anyone’s day. Angie is phenomenal at what she does and she is just an all-around quality and genuine human being down to the core. Angie, thank you so much for everything. Thank you for being there when I needed you and thank you for being someone to come to all year round. Thank you so much for being such a beautiful individual and for being so modest and humble. You deserve all of the praise in the world, not to mention how many awards you deserve πŸ™‚ Thank you so much for being you Angie, and thank you for being in my life πŸ™‚
