#95. February 25th, 2013: Woman at GW Bookstore :)

Today was a stressful and long day. Actually, that;s an understatement. Nonetheless, I had to quickly run and grab some more printer ink this evening between meetings. I moved fast to get there in time but as I walked in through the doors of our bookstore, the overhead voice said “It’s now 7 PM and we are closed. Please make your way out of the store. Thank you!” Naturally, I laughed at my timing and bad luck during the day, but this woman, our of nowhere, called over to me and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I said yes and that all I needed was computer ink. She then told me to follow her and that she’d be glad to help 🙂 Not only did she offer to help, but when I forgot what type of ink I needed she let me search for it on my computer for a few minutes. We finally found what number I needed and she snatched me one off the wall. Then, in the darkness of the closed bookstore, she walked with me to the register and rung me up. Within a few minutes I was out the door and had my computer ink that I need for later tonight. Lately I have posted about such simple acts of kindness but I think that I have to because they are so important in appreciating every single day and the beauty that happens within them. This woman was so kind to offer to help at closing even when she could have just said “Sir you need to leave, we are closed.” Thank you so much lovely woman at the bookstore (she didn’t have a nametag on grrrr) for doing a little extra tonight and helping me out. Thank you so much for making me smile and for making me pause during a hectic day to remember the joy of life and all the people in it. Thank you thank you thank you 🙂 You’re a wonderful human being.
