#79. February 9th, 2013: Edub

When I look back at high school, there are so many people who played mentor and friend roles in my life. Edub is at the top of that list. When I first met Edub, she was Mrs. Williams, the ASB teacher of CCA. Now, she’s someone who I deeply admire and someone I can call my friend. Edub is one of the most hardworking, never-seeking-for-recognition people I have ever met. She is literally always working and it’s always for the benefit of her students and the people that she cares about in life. Edub is one of the most fantastically sarcastic, wonderfully blunt women I have ever had the privilege of having in my life πŸ™‚ I will always remember the countless hilarious memories we have shared together, most commonly when she flicked me, poked me, or locked me in the Cage. Edub is honestly one of the best teachers I have ever had. She transcends the teacher role and treats you like an adult with the care and comfort of a mother. She is someone you can always count on for advice, a listening ear, or just to share a great laugh with. Edub is also one of the strongest women that I know. Never have I met someone with so much internal passion and will to be better. Edub is always striving to help those around her and is always trying to make her life richer with experiences. She is seriously such a phenomenal human being it’s insane πŸ™‚ The long train rides to CADA, the shopping trips, the showing up at 4 am for events, the long and tiresome nights at CCA after a school dance; I could go on and on with countless memories that will always make me smile just thinking of them πŸ™‚ Edub, you are such a beautiful human being who deserves to be complimented and appreciated so much more than you are. You have changed my life in such incredible and positive ways and you have done the same to so many more individuals. The fact that your personality and effect on students goes beyond the graduation stage of high school shows me and the world jut how legendary you are. You represent perseverance, strength, humor, modesty, dedicated, devoted, dedicated again, and even more devoted πŸ™‚ You put everything you have into all that you care about and I can’t thank you enough for that πŸ™‚ Edub, thank you so much for being such a role model in my life. Thank you so much for all the support you have given me over the years. Thank you for helping me in my coming out process and thank you for always being there to chat and give me (sometimes harsh) advice πŸ™‚ Thank you so much for always giving your heart to ASB and for always showing us what it means to be truly passionate and dedicated to something. Thank you so much for teaching me some of the most important lessons of life and thank you so much for allowing me to open up to you so that I could grow stronger. Thank you so much for picking on me and teaching me to have thicker skin πŸ™‚ Thank you so much for just being all that you are and for making this world a better place. The teaching universe needs more people like you. Thank you so much for being such a big influence in my life. For all of that, Edub, I thank you so so so much πŸ™‚
