#24. December 16th, 2012: Kelsey Rhodes

Let me just say that calling Ms. Kelsey tonight was without a doubt the highlight of my day. Hearing her voice was like hearing positivity and joy itself and it just was absolutely fantastic 🙂 Even better was how her laugh sounds EXACTLY like her mom’s. It’s kind of unfair at how much incredible-ness is in that family. But at the same time, it’s makes me so appreciative to know them 🙂 Kelsey, you really are a shining star. As I told you tonight, I vividly remember the conversation we had that night years ago outside your house. I knew right then that we would not only be friends forever, but that we shared a special connection. It was weird to be honest. I just felt that someone understood me. You made me feel welcomed into some sort of world 🙂 I don’t know. I really can’t describe it, but like I tried to do so tonight, I just feel like you are a fellow trying-to-be-world-changer and that you have always, ALWAYS supported me in what I am doing. I always know that I can call you and get your honest opinion on an idea, and if not you, your mom or Madison 🙂 You seriously are fantastic though, Kelsey. You are incredibly dedicated to all that you set your mind to and you are someone that follows through and finishes what you start. You set the example for loving your family with all of your heart and yet you still manage to share that love with the friends that surround you. You are such a role model to me and many other people and it’s just ahh!!! 🙂 You’re the greatest. As I mentioned, you have such a sweet sense of style and pizzaz about you and you have one of the most unique personalities that I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. When you smile, we ALL smile. When you’re happy, all is good in the world. You are just one big energetic movement that exudes love. Seriously. If I was straight, I would marry you. Done. Anyway, Kelsey, just know that you are an amazing person. Thank you for being a leader, whether it’s through TEDxUofM, or through everything else that you do. Thank you so much for always being open minded and for always allowing yourself to grow and expand your perspective. Thank you for being yourself and for doing what’s right, even when it’s the hardest thing to do. Thank you for taking your life where YOU want it to go and thank you for being an overall rockstar. UGH. For all of that, Kelsey, I thank you 🙂
