#20. December 12th, 2012: Caileigh Gallahue

I have known Caileigh since kindergarten and I am so unbelievably proud to say that she is my friend today 🙂 We have gone to different schools, she’s left to Australia for a year, and year we have still managed to stay so close and it makes me so happy 🙂 Caileigh is someone that you can count on. Whether it’s to cheer you up or be there for you when you want to watch movies at 3 am with nutella in your hand (shout out to Charlie and Sean), she is there. She has one of the most beautiful smiles that can make everyone around her so happy and warm and ahh I just love her! When we were little she introduced leprechaun hotels to me. This is where you make little hotels for them and they come visit over night on St. Patrick’s Day and it’s the most exciting thing ever. Well, anyway, she showed me those and I made them for years 🙂 Thank you so much for that Caileigh, seriously 🙂 Caileigh is also someone who is surrounded by an amazing family (Doorbell, Mel) and because of that she cares so much for her friends. She goes out of her way to make you feel special and I love her for that. Caileigh, you truly made growing up so much fun. With you a street below me, I knew I had a friend to hang out with and to talk with and just be there for me. You are unbelievably intelligent and talented and incredibly modest with all the things you do. You deserve an award for quality friend, kindness, love, and compassion, because you rock at all of those things. You are such a role model to me in that you have such commitment to your values, friendships, and life in general. When I meet people from Bishops here at GW, you’re the first person I ask if they knew you and when they do, it’s a “OMG YES, I LOVE Caileigh!!!!” 🙂 It always makes me so proud to call you my friend and even more than that is our family’s bond that makes us closer together as well. I seriously love being friends with you, Caileigh. You make my days better and happier when I see you and I literally get excited to come home for breaks because I know we will hang out and have a movie night and catch-up sesh. I can’t thank you enough for being who you are and for being so supportive of me throughout my coming out process and just overall breaking-out-of-awkwardness process. Well, we both are still a little awk but that’s ok 🙂 Anyway, I love you, thank you, and I cannot wait to see you when I get home 🙂 You’re someone people can rely on and someone who makes others genuinely feel loved and happy on the inside. For all of that, Caileigh, I thank you 🙂
