#8. November 30th, 2012: Mr. Black

This is the man that approached me with opportunity that would eventually change my life. In January of 2011, he came to me and asked if I would like to help plan this thing called a “TEDxYouth” event. I said, “Absolutely,” and from there we embarked on an 11-month journey that ended in absolute joy and inspiration. Mr. Black, you are a magnificent visionary, husband, and father. You have one of the most energetic and vibrant personalities I’ve ever seen and you have the ability to completely control a room with what you’re saying. Your eyes speak your passion and your heart is enormous and filled with love and compassion for those you care about and more. You have three of the most beautiful children I have ever seen and I am SO excited to see the trips when I get back to San Diego :) I’ll talk about your lovely wife, my freshman year English teacher, another time :) You really have changed and impacted my life for the better though, Mr. Black. As I told you today, you’ve acted like a father to me and you have always supported me with who I am and what I am doing in life. Every time I get to see I am excited to share my passions with you as I know you share the same enthusiasm for changing the world and making it a better place for everyone. You understand me and have always lent a helping hand with any struggles I was facing. You are a rockstar poker player which only adds to how awesomely cool you are and I admire your determination to follow your dreams. Your dedication to being the best father you can be for your kids is something that I look up to beyond measure and I can only hope to grow up to be as committed a father and husband that you are. You are an inspiration to so many people and I am definitely one of them. For all of that, Mr. Black, I thank you :)
